Deep within the enchanting rolling hills, resided a shepherd boy. His life was mostly unadulterated, simple yet virtuous. His main role was to look after his flock of sheep.
Their low murmuring and the rustling of the breezes through the lone tree on the peak were his constant companions. Day in day, guarding his charges instilled in him a feeling of calm satisfaction.
However, there were the occasional moments of solitude, when the shepherd boy would yearn for fellowship. On one such day because of sheer monotony, the shepherd boy orchestrated a troublesome plot.
Tales of wolves hunting on sheep had long been circulating in the town. So, the boy opted to leveraged this fear and played a prank on the inhabitants.
One afternoon he dashed into the village shouting “Wolf! There is a website wolf that has taken my sheep!” The scared villagers rushed up the hills to offer assistance but found no wolf.
The boy giggled at the puzzle on their faces. This trick persisted for a couple of more days. However, one noon, a real wolf actually charge at the herd. The shepherd boy ran for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one came.
Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his sheep. Heartbroken, he went back to the village only to be met with a lesson on honesty and the repercussions of false alarms.
